Uniden BC-95 XLT 800 MHz Handheld Scanner

The Uniden BC-95 XLT 800 MHz is the big brother to its predecessor the Uniden BC-72. The biggest improvement over its predecessor is the ability to access 200 channels and 10 weather banks. With the large number of channels you can use the Uniden BC-95 XLT scanner to get access to police, ambulance, fire, amateur radio, public utilities and weather. If you are a big NASCAR fan, you can use the Uniden BC-95 XLT to listen to NASCAR races.

Programming

Programming is a necessary evil on any scanner. When I tried to first program the Uniden BC-95 XLT, I found it slightly challenging. Once you figure it out it is actually a snap to configure the handheld scanner. You can use a PC to program the handheld scanner but the software and cable are not included.

There are 10 programmable search ranges. You can use these to tune in to unlisted frequencies in your area. There are also 6 pre-programmed service searches. These services searches make it a snap to find information in your area using the Uniden BC-95 XLT.

It is small enough to be easily carried anywhere. If you really want hands free operation, you should consider purchasing a belt clip with the handheld scanner.

All handheld scanners operate on batteries. Eventually the batteries will be drained of life. The Uniden BC-95 XLT is no exception.
